Latest news

  • Jacobs doesn't anticipate missing any additional game action due to the release of additional allegations of physical and verbal abuse against him, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

"With all the evidence that we have and that they have at this point, it's not one of those things where I'm sitting back on my hands like, 'OK, am I going to play this week?'" Jacobs said. "I'm not worried about feeling like I'm going to miss any more time than I already have." Jacobs spent the first six weeks of the season on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Those six absences would count toward any suspension the NFL hands down to Jacobs in connection with the league's investigation into his possible violations of the league's personal conduct policy.

  • Head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that the Packers are aware of the prior physical abuse allegations involving Jacobs that recently surfaced and "anticipate him being a member" of the team moving forward, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

Before making his season debut Week 7, Jacobs missed the Packers' first six games after he was placed on the commissioner's exempt list after he was officially charged Aug. 27 with two misdemeanors stemming from his May arrest for a domestic incident. The legal process related to that incident has since played out, but Jacobs' status with the team had been called into question after the NFL announced Saturday that it was reviewing additional allegations of physical and verbal abuse from three different women in incidents dating back to April 2021 that were released following a public records request. Unless the NFL elects to place him back on the exempt list while it reviews the incidents in question, Jacobs looks like he'll be available for Green Bay's next game Sunday at New England. Despite the missed time to begin the season, Jacobs has immediately settled back into a lead role in the backfield and has scored three touchdowns in two games, but he's mustered just 75 yards on 32 carries (2.3 average) to go with 11 receptions for 68 yards on 13 targets.

  • "Newly released records," according to NBC 26, "show additional women contacted the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department to report alleged physical incidents involving Jacobs."

Per the initial report, "The accounts surfaced during the department's investigation into a May 23 incident at Jacobs' home," and according to the Associated Press "were included in evidence regarding Jacobs' battery case," which he ultimately pleaded no contest to. The follow-up report notes that the NFL will "review these allegations as part of its investigation, which has remained open."

  • Jacobs rushed 21 times for 39 yards and a touchdown and brought in all six targets for 13 yards and another score in the Packers' 27-19 win over the Panthers on Thursday.

Jacobs saw a sizable increase in workload after making his Week 7 season debut just four days earlier, and although he couldn't crack the code of what had been a vulnerable Panthers run defense, he still put together a useful fantasy performance thanks to the pair of scores. The veteran back first went into the end zone on a one-yard run that capped off a nine-play, 90-yard march in the second quarter, and he added his four-yard touchdown grab midway through the third. Jacobs looks fully prepared to remain in a workhorse role moving forward, and he'll next take aim at the Patriots' talented front seven in a Week 9 road showdown on Sunday, Nov. 8.

  • Jacobs rushed 11 times for 36 yards and hauled in five of seven targets for 55 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 20-17 loss at Detroit.

After missing the first six games of the season while on the commissioner's exempt list, Jacobs claimed the lion's share of the Packers' backfield touches, with MarShawn Lloyd handling the other eight (for 35 total yards). Meanwhile, an active Pierre Strong didn't get a touch, and Kaleb Johnson was inactive as a healthy scratch. Running room continued to be difficult to find for Green Bay's RBs, with the team overall averaging just 3.2 YPC on Sunday. Jacobs likely will hold on to a majority share of the reps among the group moving forward, with the team next set to host the Panthers on Thursday night.
