Latest news

  • Spencer finished with eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one assist in 12 minutes during Wednesday's 124-117 preseason loss to Chicago.

Spencer made both of his field goals from beyond the arc and avoided committing a turnover. The veteran guard will look to build on his perimeter shooting as he competes for playing time in Phoenix's crowded backcourt, though his regular-season fantasy outlook remains limited.

  • Spencer agreed to a two-way deal with the Suns on Thursday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Spencer spent the last three seasons with the Warriors. While the 29-year-old didn't see consistent action for Golden State over the years, he is still coming off his best season, averaging 11.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 40.0 percent from deep over 29.6 minutes in 14 regular-season starts. Spencer could get on the floor for the Suns occasionally during the 2026-27 campaign, though he is expected to spend most of his time in the G League.

  • Spencer chipped in two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in one minute during Friday's 111-96 Play-In Game loss to the Suns.

Spencer was a healthy DNP for Wednesday's win over the Clippers before being limited to garbage-time burn in Friday's loss. The Northwestern product enjoyed a productive third season in the NBA, averaging career highs in minutes (18.6), points (7.2), assists (3.5) and rebounds (2.4). Spencer enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and will certainly look to join a team who can promise him more consistent playing time.

  • Spencer won't start in Friday's game against Sacramento, Kenzo Fukuda of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Spencer was in the starting lineup for the Warriors' last two contests. However, with Stephen Curry (knee) and Brandin Podziemski available, Spencer will head back to the bench.

  • Spencer will start Tuesday's game against the Kings.

Will Richard (back) was a late scratch ahead of tipoff, opening the door for Spencer to draw his first start since March 7. As a starter this season (12 games), he has averaged 11.2 points, 5.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 27.9 minutes per contest.

  • Spencer closed with 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across 16 minutes during Thursday's 118-111 loss to the Cavaliers.

Although Spencer made the most of his limited run Thursday, his window for fantasy appeal in deeper formats may be closing -- Stephen Curry (knee) is targeting a return Sunday against Houston. Spencer has averaged 9.5 points, 3.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 22.4 minutes over his last eight games.
