Out · expected back around Jan 2
Porzingis said he was looking forward to joining the Warriors, but his body didn't respond the way he wanted it too during his ramp-up process before the season. Additionally, he said he will work with the Warriors on a solution that "makes sense." Porzingis is making this decision to prioritize his health and will hopefully turn a corner soon on that front.

Porzingis announced on his social media that he's stepping away from basketball.

The Warriors have stopped issuing salary payments to Porzingis (illness), who remains away from the team and is considering retirement, Anthony Slater and Shams Charania of ESPN reported Wednesday.
Porzingis has not returned to the Warriors' facility since leaving in October, and his absence is no longer considered excused by the organization. Golden State continues to explore trading the 31-year-old center's contract ahead of the Feb. 11 deadline rather than voiding his deal. With Porzingis reportedly leaning toward retirement and no timetable for his return, he remains an extremely risky fantasy investment, with little reason to expect meaningful production this season.

The Warriors are exploring potential trades involving Porzingis (personal/illness), who remains away from the team indefinitely while dealing with ongoing health concerns, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports.
Porzingis is reportedly contemplating his future in basketball as he continues to battle health issues that have plagued him for nearly two years. Golden State isn't expecting the veteran center to rejoin the team anytime soon, and his contract structure could make him an attractive trade piece despite the uncertainty surrounding his playing future. With no timetable for his return and retirement potentially on the table, Porzingis remains a highly speculative fantasy stash, even in leagues with injured reserve spots.

Porzingis is contemplating his future in basketball as he deals with recurring symptoms from the autoimmune condition termed as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Charania also notes Golden State has started exploring trade routes for Porzingis, who is already considered out indefinitely to begin the 2026-27 season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the big man to get back on the floor anytime soon, whether it be for the Warriors or perhaps another team, and it sounds like stepping away from the game is on the table for Porzingis at this point.

Porzingis (undisclosed) won't travel with the Warriors and remains out indefinitely, Luca Evans of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Porzingis is going to miss the start of the regular season, and fantasy managers should treat his return as an if, not a when. The Warriors have not released any additional info on Porzingis' absence, saying it's an undisclosed health issue. Given Porzingis' medical history, both sides are going to proceed with the utmost caution.

Porzingis (undisclosed) returned Wednesday to the Warriors' practice facility, per Anthony Slater of ESPN.com.
Head coach Steve Kerr still has no update on Porzingis' timeline for a return, per Luca Evans of the San Francisco Chronicle. With so much camp time missed, the big man's status for the start of the regular season remains in serious doubt at this point after the Warriors announced Wednesday that Porzingis remains out indefinitely with an undisclosed health issue.
