Latest news

  • Hunter is questionable for Friday against the Spurs due to an illness.

Hunter is a late addition to the injury report. If he doesn't suit up Friday, Malik Monk and Leaky Black should soak up more playing time for the Kings.

  • Hunter recorded 14 points (4-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 116-103 loss to the Lakers.

Hunter played heavy minutes but couldn't build on Saturday's 19-point outing, offering little outside of scoring. He continues to see a starter's workload, but with modest peripheral production, he's mainly a points streamer in standard leagues.

  • Hunter chipped in 19 points (8-18 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes during Saturday's 136-105 loss to the Grizzlies.

Hunter scored 12 of his 19 points in the second quarter and finished Saturday as the Kings' second-leading scorer behind rookie seventh-overall pick Darius Acuff (38). Hunter failed to score in double digits in each of the first three games of the regular season, but over his last three outings, he has averaged 22.3 points per game on 52.3 percent shooting along with 4.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 3.7 threes and 0.7 steals over 34.0 minutes per contest. He'll continue to operate in an elevated role for as long as Keegan Murray (ankle) is out of action.

  • Hunter logged 24 points (8-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 130-103 loss to the Spurs.

Hunter finally found his footing, scoring a season-high 24 points, despite another loss. Prior to Tuesday, he had scored a total of 17 points across three games to open the campaign, an indication that this could be considered an outlier. While this was an encouraging shooting performance, fantasy managers certainly shouldn't overreact just yet.

  • Hunter chipped in seven points (2-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 29 minutes during Sunday's 123-112 loss to the Grizzlies.

Hunter is off to a sluggish start to the new campaign. The forward has yet to score in double digits in any of his first three appearances, but he should be able to hang on to a starting role with the rebuilding Kings going forward.

  • Hunter will start Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Ben Simmons is out for the season with a torn Achilles, opening the door for Hunter to step into the starting five. The 28-year-old appeared in only two games after being traded to Sacramento last season, and he averaged 13.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.7 steals across 26.1 minutes per contest in 45 regular-season games (25 starts) between the Kings and Cavaliers.
