Benson (undisclosed) is expected to play against Ottawa on Wednesday, per Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News.
Benson returned to the ice for Tuesday's practice after sitting out Monday's session with an undisclosed injury. He is projected to play on the top line and first power-play unit against the Senators on Wednesday. Benson has two goals, 13 points, 33 shots on net and 18 hits in 14 appearances this season.

Head coach Lindy Ruff said that Benson's absence from practice was deemed a maintenance day, but the Sabres will see how he feels over the next few days before determining his status for Wednesday's game against Ottawa. The 21-year-old got banged up in the third period of Saturday's win over the Kings. Benson is expected to skate Tuesday morning and could join the team for practice, and a better idea of his availability for Wednesday could come into focus based on his participation level Tuesday.

Benson has two goals and five helpers during a four-game point streak. The 21-year-old forward is finding success on the top line, and he's also helped to spark Tage Thompson's offense during the Sabres' three-game winning streak. One of Benson's helpers came on the power play. The winger took some time to get going this season, but he's now scored in consecutive games, and he's gotten on the scoresheet in seven of his last eight outings. He's up to two goals, nine assists, 29 shots on net, 17 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 13 appearances. As long as he's playing in the top six and maintains a power-play role, Benson is poised to be a productive winger in fantasy, especially since he looks committed to upping his physical play this year.
