Askarov stopped 25 of 29 shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Wild.
This was a tough matchup on paper, and Askarov wasn't able to flip the script as Kirill Kaprizov (four points) and Quinn Hughes (three points) dominated the contest. This was a third straight regulation loss for Askarov, who has allowed 13 goals on 77 shots in that span. He's now at a 4-8-0 record with a 3.35 GAA and an .885 save percentage for the season. Expect Alex Nedeljkovic to get the nod in Dallas on Saturday.

Askarov will patrol the crease on the road versus the Wild on Friday, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Askarov has been struggling for victories this season, winning just two of his last nine outings while posting a 3.28 GAA and .888 save percentage. Despite the slump, the 24-year-old netminder will make his third straight start while Alex Nedeljkovic serves as the No. 2 option.

Askarov stopped 20 of 27 shots in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Kings.
Askarov had gone five games without a disastrous outing, but that stretch ended against a division rival. The Kings cashed in on three of five power-play chances and got big performances from their first line to make it a miserable contest for Askarov. The 24-year-old netminder is now 4-7-0 with a 3.29 GAA and an .888 save percentage over 11 starts. He has started four of the last five games, but head coach Ryan Warsofsky tends to run with the hot hand. Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic will likely get a tough assignment in the Sharks' upcoming road back-to-back, which features stops in Minnesota on Friday and Dallas on Saturday.

Askarov was the first goalie off the ice at Wednesday's morning skate, Max Miller of NHL.com reports, indicating that he'll start on the road against Los Angeles.
Askarov has alternated wins and losses across his last five appearances, going 2-3-0 with a 1.82 GAA and .944 save percentage. He'll be between the pipes for a second consecutive game following Monday's 2-1 loss to Calgary. Los Angeles has logged 2.77 goals per game this season, which is the seventh-worst mark in the league.

Askarov stopped 20 of 22 shots in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Flames.
Askarov kept San Jose in the game but couldn't prevent William Stromgren's third-period winner. The young netminder finished with a .909 save percentage, but it's hard to rely on him for sustained fantasy production -- he's alternated wins and losses over his last five appearances, and the Sharks have also dropped four of their last five games. His starting opportunities offer fantasy upside, but inconsistent offensive support and game-to-game performances remain a concern for his win potential.

Askarov was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Max Miller of NHL.com reports, indicating that he'll draw the start at home against the Flames.
Askarov has alternated wins and losses across his last four starts, going 2-2-0 with a 1.77 GAA and .950 save percentage during that time. He'll have a favorable matchup against Calgary on Monday, as the Flames have recorded 2.57 goals per game to begin the regular season, which is the fifth-worst mark in the NHL.
