Gourde (hip) will miss Thursday's game against Chicago, but he might be available at some point during the upcoming four-game road trip, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.
Tampa Bay's road trip includes stops in Minnesota, Winnipeg, Buffalo and Columbus on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Gourde hasn't played this campaign yet due to offseason hip surgery. He had nine goals and 28 points in 82 regular-season appearances with Tampa Bay in 2025-26.

Gourde won't be available to play until at least December after having offseason hip surgery. He contributed 19 assists, 28 points, 114 shots on net, 115 hits and 66 PIM in 82 regular-season games with Tampa Bay in 2025-26.

Gourde played in all 82 regular-season games last year, generating nine goals and 19 helpers. He missed the 30-point threshold for the first time since 2016-17. With Dominic James (hand) also unavailable to start the season, the Bolts suddenly find themselves thin at center, which could create an opportunity for Jansen Harkins. Look for Gourde to start the year on long-term injured reserve, though the move may not become official immediately.

Gourde hadn't found the scoresheet since he picked up an assist in a regular-season matchup against Pittsburgh on April 2. He contributed his first point of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs by getting the secondary helper on Dominic James' tally in the second period. The 34-year-old Gourde has maintained his place as a defensive forward in the middle six, but the lack of depth scoring has hurt a Lightning team that is on the brink of elimination. Gourde had 28 points over 82 regular-season contests, and prior to this playoff run, he earned 43 points across 88 postseason outings.

The 34-year-old continues to play in a third-line role, so he may have some ups and downs on offense for a team where the starpower carries the scoring.
