Latest news

  • Johnston recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and placed two shots on net in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Capitals.

Johnston recorded his fourth multi-point game over his last six outings in Tuesday's clash. The first of his two helpers came on Jason Robertson's power play goal early in the second period. Overall, the 23-year-old center now has 10 assists, 13 points and 34 shots on net across 13 outings this season. He's currently rolling with nine points over his last six outings. If Johnston can continue to heat up after a slow start to the 2026-27 campaign, he could challenge the 90-point threshold for the first time in his career.

  • Johnston tallied a power-play goal, dished out an assist and placed two shots on net in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Montreal.

Johnston has been heating up, posting one goal and one assist in three of his last four outings. The 23-year-old forward has three goals, 10 points, 29 shots on net, 11 hits and seven blocked shots across 11 outings this season. After a slow start, he has nine points over his last eight games. He still has a strong chance to challenge the 85-point threshold once again, making him a high-level fantasy option with positional flexibility.

  • Johnston scored an even-strength goal on two shots and added a power-play assist in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Islanders.

Johnston assisted on Justin Hryckowian's second-period power-play goal before potting the game-winner early in the third. After failing to find the back of the net in his first seven appearances, Johnston has now tickled twine in consecutive games. His continued power-play involvement and prominent offensive role should help him build on this momentum, especially after he scored 45 goals last season. He seems to be finding his form with back-to-back multi-point performances.

  • Johnston scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Jets.

Johnston finally opened his goal-scoring account after recording 45 goals last season, ending a seven-game drought. The 23-year-old forward also assisted on Roope Hintz's game-tying goal late in regulation, finishing with his second multi-point performance of the campaign. His 19:55 of ice time and continued involvement alongside Dallas' top offensive players remain encouraging, though his early scoring struggles have limited his fantasy production.

  • Johnston fired five shots on net and added a hit in Saturday's 4-0 win over Chicago.

Making his return from a two-game absence due to an illness, Johnston was second on the Stars in shots behind Jason Robertson's seven, but the former couldn't get one past Spencer Knight. Johnston is still looking for his first goal of 2026-27, picking up four assists in six games, but he should open his account soon enough after lighting the lamp 45 times in 82 regular-season contests last season.
