Eklund (ankle) was moved to injured reserve Saturday, according to Claire Hanna of TSN.
The Senators intend to activate Andre Burakovsky (upper body) from the IR list in a corresponding move. Eklund sustained an ankle injury in Thursday's 2-1 win over Philadelphia and is out indefinitely. He has one goal, two points and nine shots on net in four games this season.

Eklund exited Thursday's game against the Flyers and was unable to put weight on his leg as he left the ice. A precise timetable for the 23-year-old's return hasn't yet been revealed, but he's considered out indefinitely and appears to at least be week-to-week at this point. Nick Cousins could see an increased role while Eklund is sidelined.

Eklund scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Red Wings.
After assisting on a Drake Batherson tally early in the second period, Eklund potted his first goal as a Senator midway through the third. Eklund jumped on a loose puck after Fabian Zetterlund's shot went wide and banked it off John Gibson from a sharp angle. The points were the first of the season in three games for Eklund, who was acquired from the Sharks in the offseason. With a top-six role and a spot on the first power-play unit, the 23-year-old Eklund is in prime position to increase his production with the Senators. He could reach the 20-goal and 60-point plateaus for the first time.
