Nichushkin scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Avalanche.
The veteran winger got some revenge against his former club, having a hand in an Ivan Provorov tally in the first period before slipping a puck past Mackenzie Blackwood on a solo rush in the second. It was Nichushkin's first multi-point performance in a Blue Jackets sweater. In 13 contests this season, he's contributed two goals and eight points while skating in a middle-six role and seeing time on the second power-play unit.

Nichushkin scored a goal on four shots and added three hits in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Blues.
Nichushkin was credited with the opening goal at 16:10 of the first period. The veteran winger has two points, seven shots on net, six hits, three blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over four outings this season. Nichushkin is filling a middle-six role and playing on the second power-play unit, so he should be a decent source of depth production in fantasy.

He gave the Blue Jackets a 2-0 lead late in the first period, going top shelf on John Gibson on a one-timer from the high slot, before helping to set up Cole Sillinger for an empty-netter late in the third. Nichushkin is expected to fill a top-six role and have a consistent spot on the power play in his first season with Columbus, giving the 31-year-old winger the opportunity to improve on the 17 goals and 49 points he recorded over 72 regular-season games for Colorado in 2025-26.

Nichushkin is looking at second-line usage in his first year with the Blue Jackets. He looked good on a line with Sean Monahan and Dmitri Voronkov in this contest. Nichushkin isn't a threat to produce at a point-per-game pace and has missed at least 10 games in each of the last five campaigns. If he can stay relatively healthy and find chemistry with his new teammates, he can contribute around a 50-point pace.
