Kozak has gotten a chance to play as injuries have piled up among Buffalo's forwards. He has been in the lineup for three consecutive games while the team navigates the absences of Justin Danforth (upper body), Jiri Kulich (concussion) and Konsta Helenius (upper body), though Sam Carrick did return from a middle-body issue Thursday. The goal was Kozak's first point in five outings to go with two shots on net, seven hits and two PIM. He's unlikely to be much of a factor in fantasy from the fourth line.

Head coach Lindy Ruff said after the game that the team talked about Kozak returning, so it isn't very surprising that the 23-year-old will likely be able to suit up Tuesday as the Sabres attempt to close out the first-round series. Across his first two postseason appearances this year, he's recorded an assist, four hits and two blocked shots while averaging 9:47 of ice time.

Kozak generated an even-strength assist and a plus-1rating in 10:59 of ice time prior to exiting in the third period Sunday. Head coach Lindy Ruff said that the team talked about Kozak returning to the game, but the Sabres elected to keep the forward out since they were up 6-0 in the final frame. Until there is an update on his status, Kozak should be considered day-to-day ahead of puck drop in Buffalo for Game 5 on Tuesday.
