Bauer scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, logged five PIM, doled out two hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canadiens.
Bauer dropped the gloves in a massive bout with Arber Xhekaj in the third period. That wasn't the extent of his energy boost, as Bauer's goal at 17:21 of the third period got the Jets on the board. He set up Morgan Barron 42 seconds later, and Winnipeg pulled off the latest four-goal comeback in NHL history to snap the team's nine-game losing streak. Bauer's points were his first in the NHL. He also has six shots on net, 23 hits and 28 PIM this season. The toughness is here to stay, but he's also endearing himself to the Jets by being versatile, as he has switched between defenseman and forward roles in recent games. His usefulness in fantasy is fairly low, but Bauer's a fun story to come out of a tough situation in Winnipeg early in the year.

Bauer logged five PIM and two hits in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Panthers.
Bauer technically spent more time in the penalty box than on the ice -- he had just 2:59 of ice time. He dressed as a seventh defenseman but took a couple of shifts as a forward, and he also got into a fight with Bokondji Imama. Bauer has made eight appearances this season, racking up 17 hits, four blocked shots and 23 PIM. Either as a blueliner or a forward, Bauer doesn't look to have enough scoring potential to draw attention in fantasy.

Bauer signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract with Winnipeg on Monday.
Bauer's new deal is a two-way agreement in 2026-27 and a one-way pact in 2027-28. The 24-year-old blueliner had one goal, four assists and 110 PIM in 52 regular-season appearances for AHL Manitoba in 2025-26. He will probably begin the 2026-27 campaign in the minors.

Bauer was put on waivers by the Jets on Tuesday, per James Mirtle of The Athletic.
Bauer logged two assists, 105 PIM and a minus-21 rating over 59 appearances with AHL Manitoba in 2024-25. The 2020 sixth-round selection has never appeared in an NHL game.
