  • Luneau scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Sabres.

Luneau has two goals and three helpers during his three-game point streak. The 22-year-old defenseman continues to regularly see top-four minutes and some power-play time as he sets himself on the path to being a full-time NHLer. He's earned seven points, 14 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 13 appearances this season.

  • Luneau scored his first goal of the season on two shots and added two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Flyers.

The 22-year-old blueliner helped set up a pair of tallies in the second period as Anaheim tied the score at 3-3, before Luneau snuck a puck under Joseph Woll's armpit two minutes into the final frame to give his team its first lead of the afternoon. The three-point performance was a career high for Luneau, and through 11 games to begin his first full season in the NHL, he's produced five points, 16 blocked shots, nine shots on net and a plus-1 rating.

  • Luneau agreed to a six-year, $43.2 million contract extension with the Ducks on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Luneau has made just 14 regular-season appearances at the NHL level, recording two goals, two assists, 15 hits, 14 blocked shots and six PIM while averaging 16:51 of ice time. He spent most of last year at AHL San Diego, where he generated 10 goals, 31 assists and 29 PIM across 70 regular-season appearances. The 22-year-old should see a more regular role with Anaheim during the 2026-27 campaign and will have long-term stability with the organization.

  • Luneau was summoned from AHL San Diego on Wednesday.

Luneau was sent to the minors Tuesday in what might have been simply a paper move. The 22-year-old blueliner had 10 goals and 41 points in 70 AHL regular-season appearances with San Diego in 2025-26. Luneau might play against Vegas on Friday as part of Anaheim's third pairing.

  • Luneau was assigned to AHL San Diego on Tuesday.

The Ducks recalled forward Cruz Lucius from the minors in a corresponding move. It wouldn't be surprising if the team change for both players is temporary. Assuming Drew Helleson (lower body) is ready for Friday's season opener against Vegas. Anaheim still needs at least one more healthy blueliner because Ian Moore (lower body) is unavailable.
