Bertucci isn't ready for the start of training camp because of an undisclosed injury, per Sam Nestler of DLLS Sports on Wednesday.
Bertucci sustained the injury during the prospects tournament. He had five goals, 24 points and 53 PIM in 63 regular-season outings with AHL Texas in 2025-26. If he's healthy enough to do so, Bertucci is likely to begin the upcoming campaign in the minors.

Bertucci scored twice in AHL Texas' 3-2 overtime win over San Diego on Friday.
Bertucci got Texas on the board with a power-play goal in the second period before scoring the game-winner in overtime. These were his first two goals as a professional. He's produced six points, 23 shots on net, 14 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 20 appearances this season as an AHL rookie. A second-round pick from 2023, Bertucci will need to round out his game a bit in the minors before contending for a spot on the Dallas roster.

Bertucci signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Stars on Friday. The deal will begin with the 2024-25 season.
The Stars selected Bertucci 61st overall in the 2023 Draft. The 18-year-old defender has drawn into 56 games with the OHL's Flint Firebirds this year, racking up nine goals, 41 points and 77 PIM. At this point, it isn't clear if he'll return to the OHL for another season in 2024-25 or make the jump to the AHL.

Bertucci was selected 61st overall by the Stars in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft on Thursday.
Bertucci had a nice season for OHL Flint, getting a ton of ice time and finishing with a dozen goals and 55 points in 70 combined regular season and playoff games. Bertucci looks the part of an NHL defender. He's 6-foot-2 and uses his feet to make an impact in all three zones. Bertucci's hockey sense is questionable, and he can try to do too much on the rink at times, but he brings a handful of NHL-caliber skills to the table. Bertucci is a perfectly fine selection for Dallas at this stage of the draft.
