    Wright has three goals, one assist, 21 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and seven hits in 14 appearances this campaign. The 22-year-old forward is in the final season of his entry-level contract. The Kraken selected Wright with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

  • Wright scored a goal Saturday in an 8-3 loss to the Panthers.

    The goal snapped a four-game point drought. Wright has three goals and an assist in nine games this season from the third line. What's more telling is that he's skating on the wing with 20-year-old center Berkly Catton. Wright was drafted as a pivot, but he has struggled dearly at the dot in past seasons. The 22-year-old forward has talent -- he put up 19 goals and 44 points in his first full season (79 regular-season games in 2024-25), but his development is lagging right now. He needs to prove himself this season in order to improve his negotiating position. Wright becomes a restricted free agent next summer, so a trade may even be in his future.

    Wright has tallied in consecutive contests. He got the Kraken on the board early in the third period to prevent a shutout Tuesday. Wright is up to three points, seven shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over four outings this season. He's working on the third line with Berkly Catton and Kaapo Kakko, which is more of a potential scoring group than a traditional checking line. Wright and Catton have shared the faceoff duties for that trio.
