Latest news

  • Holmberg had one goal and three assists in a 6-4 win over Winnipeg on Thursday.

It was the first time Holmberg delivered four points in his NHL career. He entered the game with three goals and three assists in 11 games. Holmberg skated with Anthony Cirelli and Brandon Hagel, who praised the winger after the game. "He kind of plays exactly like us," said Hagel. "He's like a Swiss Army knife. You can almost compare him and Tony a little bit. He's always had that offensive skill. We ask him to do whatever and he's going to do it." Holmberg caught lightning in a bottle Thursday, but at the same time, skating with Hagel and Cirelli is the kind of beneficial deployment that could deliver more points sooner rather than later. Holmberg has two goals, three assists and five shots in his last two contests.

  • Holmberg scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Holmberg continues to be a decent depth forward on the Lightning's third line. He's chipped in three goals, three assists, 19 shots on net, 10 PIM, six hits and six blocked shots over 11 outings this season. Holmberg's production isn't strong enough in any one area to make a big splash in fantasy, but he could still be useful in deep formats until his offense stalls out.

  • Holmberg scored a goal Saturday in a 4-2 win over Vancouver.

The goal stretched his point streak to three games and three points (one goal, two assists). Holmberg has seven shots in that span. He's off to a strong start to the season, and he's on a career pace. Holmberg posted career highs with 11 goals and 11 assists in 70 regular-season games last year. So far, he has notched two goals and three assists in eight games. He has also already put up 14 shots, which puts him on pace for nearly 150. Holmberg will probably struggle to maintain his current 50-plus-point pace, but a new career high is certainly within reach.

  • Holmberg scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.

The 27-year-old gave the Lightning a 2-0 lead just 17 seconds into the second period, ripping a shot from the faceoff circle past Dan Vladar to convert a 3-on-1 break. The points were Holmberg's first of the season in three games, as the bottom-six forward looks to match or improve on a career-best 2025-26 campaign in which he managed 11 goals and 22 points in 70 regular-season contests.

  • Holmberg (collarbone) is expected to be available for the start of the 2026-27 season, Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley reports Wednesday.

General manager Julien BriseBois listed several players Wednesday who aren't expected to be available to begin the campaign, and Holmberg wasn't mentioned after he missed the end of the 2025-26 campaign due to a fractured clavicle. Prior to his injury, Holmberg appeared in a career-high 70 regular-season games during his first year with the Lightning, and he recorded 11 goals, 11 assists, 66 hits, 31 blocked shots and 31 PIM while averaging 13:21 of ice time.

  • Holmberg sustained a fractured clavicle against Buffalo on April 6, per Evan Closky of 10 Tampa Bay News on Tuesday.

While an exact timeline for Holmberg's return never materialized, this type of injury can take 6-12 weeks to recover from. He has plenty of time to heal now that Tampa Bay has been eliminated from the playoffs, and he should be available for training camp in the fall. Holmberg had 11 goals, 22 points, 90 shots on net and 66 hits across 70 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season.
