Latest news
Bonk scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Bonk has slipped to a bottom-four role since Cam York returned from an upper-body injury. The good news is that Bonk still has a power-play role, and he looks poised to stay in the lineup regularly ahead of one of Simon Benoit or David Jiricek. Bonk has earned his place with six points, 12 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating across 10 appearances this season. It's doubtful he'll keep up that scoring pace, but fantasy managers should at least keep an eye on the 21-year-old defenseman.

Bonk notched two assists and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Sabres.
Bonk has been thrust into a top-pairing role upon his arrival in Philadelphia, and he's holding his own. He's earned four assists, five shots on net, nine blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over his first six contests this season. The 21-year-old defenseman may have secured his spot in the lineup even once Rasmus Ristolainen (upper body) and Cam York (upper body) get healthy.

Bonk was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Sunday, per the NHL Media Site.
Bonk's call-up is a decent indicator that Cam York (upper body) and Rasmus Ristolainen (upper body) will remain sidelined ahead of Sunday's home clash against the Hurricanes. Prior to the move, the 21-year-old Bonk had two assists in two outings for AHL Lehigh Valley. It remains to be seen whether Bonk will make his 2026-27 NHL season debut Sunday with seven healthy defensemen on Philadelphia's roster, but he'll likely factor into the lineup at some point in the new season.

Bonk is expected to be in the mix for an Opening Night roster spot, per Jordan Hall on NBC Sports Philadelphia on Friday.
Bonk got his first taste of NHL action when he recorded a goal and an assist across 16:28 of ice time in a 4-2 win over Montreal on April 14. He also recorded a hit while logging 12:36 in a playoff appearance May 9. At the AHL level, he had six goals and 19 points in 46 regular-season outings with Lehigh Valley in 2025-26. The 21-year-old has enough offensive upside to be worth keeping an eye on. He'll probably be limited to a third-pairing role if he does make the Flyers out of training camp, but he might also get some power-play ice time in that scenario.

Bonk was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Monday.
Bonk had six goals and 19 points in 46 games during his rookie AHL campaign in 2025-26. He also made an impact in his NHL debut against Montreal on Tuesday, when he notched one goal and one assist in a 4-2 victory. However, Bonk is probably just up with the Flyers in the postseason to be a member of the Black Aces.

Bonk was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
Bonk made his NHL debut Tuesday, providing a goal and an assist to lead the Flyers to a 4-2 victory over Montreal. That fantastic performance will help make his case when he's competing for an NHL roster spot during training camp, but for now, he'll focus on closing out the campaign for Lehigh Valley, which will not make the Calder Cup Playoffs. The 21-year-old defenseman has six goals, 19 points and 22 PIM in 44 outings with the AHL squad in 2025-26. Bonk is unlikely to play for Philadelphia during its playoff run, but he might eventually join the club as a Black Ace to get a taste of the postseason atmosphere.
