Foligno (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
With his move to injured reserve, Foligno should be expected to be out of action for at least the next three games, though it could be longer. Prior to getting hurt, the veteran winger notched one goal and three shots in three games while averaging a career-low 9:57 of ice time.

Foligno (upper body) will not play in either of Minnesota's next two games, Wild radio broadcaster Joe O'Donnell reports Thursday.
Foligno exited Tuesday's contest against the Sabres after the first period, and he did not rejoin the team on the bench for the start of the second frame. Per head coach John Hynes, the veteran forward will not play in Thursday's clash with Tampa Bay or Saturday's matchup against the Panthers. Foligno was off to a solid start to the new season, recording one goal, a plus-2 rating and three shots on net across his first three outings. With the 38-year-old winger sidelined, Nico Sturm is set to make his season debut. Foligno's next opportunity to return is Monday against the Golden Knights.

Foligno signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Wild on Wednesday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Foligno had four goals, 15 points, 44 PIM, 129 hits and 33 blocks in 54 regular-season appearances between Chicago and Minnesota in 2025-26. The 38-year-old will probably open 2026-27 on the Wild's fourth line, but he's capable of shifting to a middle-six role if injuries warrant the change.
