  • Chaffee tallied a goal, placed three shots on net and dished out three hits in Thursday's 5-3 loss to Carolina.

    Thursday's outing was a special one for Chaffee, as he not only recorded his first goal with the Islanders, but it was also his first NHL goal since April 28, 2025. The 28-year-old Chaffee was called up from AHL Hamilton on Oct. 19, and has contributed six shots on net and 13 hits over seven appearances. He should remain a regular contributor to the Isles' lineup for as long as Matias Maccelli (lower body) and Calum Ritchie (lower body) are on injured reserve.

    Chaffee's first game in the Islanders' organization was a big one. He helped the Hammers start off their new era in a positive manner following the team's rebrand and relocation from Bridgeport. Chaffee was better than a point-per-game player with AHL Syracuse in 2025-26, so he should be an effective minor-league scorer.

    Chaffee signed a one-year deal with the Isles in the offseason after he played in 11 games with Tampa Bay during the 2025-26 campaign. He did most of his damage last season with AHL Syracuse, where he posted 24 goals and 57 points across 54 regular-season outings. He'll look to be effective for the newly-relocated AHL Hamilton, and Chaffee could see some action with the Isles if the team runs into a stream of injuries.
