Heiskanen (upper body) is slated to be sidelined for Saturday's game against the Sharks, Robert Tiffin of NHL.com reports.
Heiskanen sustained an upper-body injury during Tuesday's game against the Capitals, and he's considered day-to-day. He'll be unavailable for a second consecutive matchup Saturday, but head coach Glen Gulutzan said that the Stars' four days off following the game against San Jose will allow for the team to be patient with Heiskanen's recovery process. It's not yet clear whether Heiskanen will be able to return Thursday against Winnipeg.

Heiskanen is slated to miss his first game of the 2026-27 campaign after suffering an upper-body injury in the second period of Tuesday's matchup against the Capitals. While the Stars will be without their top blueliner Thursday, it's an encouraging sign that the 27-year-old defenseman was originally listed as day-to-day. Heiskanen notched two assists and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
This was Heiskanen's second multi-point effort of the campaign. He's gone seven games without a goal but still has five assists, including two on the power play, in that span. The star defenseman is up to three goals, eight helpers, 26 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 14 outings this season. He should continue to see significant ice time in all situations.
