Lohrei snapped a seven-game point drought with the tally. He answered the Blackhawks' fourth goal less than a minute later during the third period, sparking the Bruins' comeback. Lohrei has three goals, three assists, 14 shots on net, 13 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 15 appearances this season. He's holding onto a third-pairing role for now, but he could get scratched if he goes through any additional slumps, especially since the Bruins are rostering eight blueliners currently.

He jumped into the rush and finished a nice pass from JJ Peterka on a 4-on-2. Lohrei has been showing off his offensive skills with Charlie McAvoy, but the latter will be eligible to return to the lineup against San Jose on Tuesday. Still, Lohrei's offensive talents will likely give him more opportunities. Lohrei has two goals, two assists, six blocks, five shots and one hit in six games.

Head coach Marco Sturm stated that Lohrei was to undergo additional testing Wednesday for his undisclosed injury, and it seems that the 25-year-old defenseman passed them. Across 73 regular-season games in the 2025-26 campaign, he posted seven goals, 26 points, 72 shots on net and 93 blocked shots. Barring he stays healthy prior to puck drop on opening night, he could be in line for a heightened role during Charlie McAvoy's six-game suspension.
