Jankowski scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Jankowski didn't score in his return from a four-game absence due to a lower-body injury. He returned to the scoresheet in his second game back. A third-line role has proved fruitful for the 32-year-old since Jordan Staal (calf) went down. Jankowski has seven goals, one assist, 17 shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 11 appearances. Don't expect this level of offense to last all year, as Jankowski has never had more than 17 goals or 32 points in a season, and those marks came from his first two campaigns.

Jankowski (lower body) will be available to play in Tuesday's home clash against the Bruins, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.
Jankowski has been sidelined for Carolina's last four games with a lower-body injury, but he's expected to be an option for Tuesday's clash. After initially skating as the 13th forward in practice, Taylor Hall was seen leaving the ice after five minutes, so Jankowski stepped into his role on the second power-play unit. It remains to be seen whether Jankowski will play Tuesday, so his status, along with Hall's availability, will be monitored leading into Tuesday's warmups. When healthy, Jankowski has been effective with six goals across nine outings this season.

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Sunday that Jankowski has ben sent back to Raleigh to have his lower-body injury assessed, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Jankowski was a late scratch for Sunday's 3-2 loss in Calgary and is now unlikely to be available until after Carolina's current road trip concludes, which will be Saturday in St. Louis. As a result of Jankowski returning home, it wouldn't be surprising to see him land on injured reserve in the near future. While the Hurricanes have lost several forwards due to injury recently, the team is expected to have Seth Jarvis (shoulder) return to the lineup soon, as Brind'Amour said Friday that he's hopeful Jarvis will be able to play at some point during this road trip. Nicolas Deslauriers got back into the lineup Sunday due to Jankowski's absence.

The Hurricanes' forward depth is certainly being tested early in the season, as Jankowski is now one of four forwards unavailable due to injury. The 32-year-old has been red hot lately, scoring a goal in six straight games. The severity of Jankowski's injury is unknown at this time, so he can be considered questionable for Tuesday's matchup in Vancouver.
