Korpisalo (foot) was activated off injured reserve by the Rangers on Friday, per the NHL media site.
Korpisalo was sent to AHL Hartford on Wednesday for a conditioning stint, and he's been cleared to return to game action at the NHL level a few days later. The 32-year-old hasn't yet made his regular-season debut for the Rangers after missing over a month due to a foot infection. Igor Shesterkin (knee) has been ruled out for the season, so Korpisalo will likely have an opportunity to compete with Dylan Garand, who has gone 6-6-1 with a 2.52 GAA and .906 save percentage over 13 appearances this year, for the No. 1 goaltending job.

Korpisalo (foot) was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Wednesday for a conditioning stint, Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Korpisalo hasn't played this season because of a foot infection, so this will be his chance to shake off some rust before suiting up for the Rangers. He's been making progress recently, including participating in part of Friday's practice and all of Saturday's session. When Korpisalo is ready to return to the NHL, he'll have an opportunity to battle with Dylan Garand for the No. 1 goalie spot Igor Shesterkin (knee) won't return this campaign, and James Reimer will probably be bumped out of the picture.

Korpisalo (lower body) will miss at least four more weeks, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Saturday.
Korpisalo has already missed the first six games of the season and remains on injured reserve. The Rangers announced Saturday that Igor Shesterkin (lower body) will miss the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign. With Korpisalo and Shesterkin unavailable, Dylan Garand is currently the Rangers' No. 1 goaltender.

Korpisalo was placed on injured reserve Thursday due to a lower-body injury, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.
Korpisalo was labeled week-to-week by the Rangers, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him back in action in the short term. Last year, the 32-year-old netminder went 14-9-6 in 31 regular-season outings with a 3.15 GAA, .894 save percentage and one shutout. With Korpisalo on the shelf, Dylan Garand has been called up to serve as the No. 2 option in New York.

Korpisalo stopped 20 of 23 shots in a 4-3 preseason shootout win over the Devils on Thursday.
Korpisalo's first start of the preseason wasn't all that impressive. The veteran netminder is still the favorite to fill the backup role behind Igor Shesterkin, but Korpisalo has left the door open for Dylan Garand to make a challenge for that gig. All three goalies have started one preseason game, though it's unlikely Korpisalo will go again Friday against the Islanders. Even if he wins the competition, Korpisalo isn't in a fantasy-friendly role -- he's on a rebuilding team and trapped on the depth chart behind a star goalie.
