Latest news

  • Drouin was placed on waivers by the Blues on Tuesday for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Drouin had one season remaining on the two-year, $8 million contract he signed with the Islanders last summer. The left-shot forward was traded by St. Louis in March in the deal that sent Brayden Schenn to the Isles. It ended up being a tough all-around year for Drouin -- he put up just four goals and 24 points over 64 games between the two teams. The 31-year-old Drouin might have to settle for a prove-it contract when free agency opens Wednesday.

  • Drouin picked up an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 6-3 win over the Wild.

Drouin has failed to make much of an impact since he was acquired from the Islanders in the Brayden Schenn deal. Through eight outings with the Blues, Drouin has two points and 10 shots on net while filling a middle-six role, but he's also been out of the lineup 10 times since his St. Louis debut. Overall, the 31-year-old has just 23 points, 83 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 63 outings this season. That suggests his success from the previous two years had more to do with the winning environment he was in with the Avalanche rather than anything Drouin was individually accomplishing.

  • Drouin (not injury related) is expected to play Friday versus Edmonton.

Drouin took Thursday's game against Carolina off so that he could return to New York to pick up his things. He hadn't gotten a chance to do so since St. Louis acquired him from the Islanders on March 6. Drouin is back with the Blues and might serve on the second line alongside Pavel Buchnevich and Otto Stenberg versus the Oilers.

  • Drouin (not injury related) will miss Thursday's game in Carolina, per Andy Strickland of the FanDuel Sports Network.

Drouin was acquired by St. Louis from the Islanders on March 6, but the Islanders were on the road when he was dealt, and he hasn't gotten the opportunity to return to New York to pick up his things. For that reason, Drouin has briefly parted ways with the Blues to gather his stuff. He's expected to be an option for Friday's home game against the Oilers. Nathan Walker might play Thursday due to Drouin's absence.

  • Drouin scored a power-play goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Ducks.

Drouin was flipped to the Blues in the Brayden Schenn deal. The 30-year-old Drouin is getting a look on the second line, which should put him in a position to find some offense if he can mesh with his new teammates. He had gone 38 games without a goal to end his Islanders tenure, so he's already off to a better start with the Blues. Drouin has 22 points (six on the power play), 75 shots on net, 19 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 56 appearances this season.

  • St. Louis acquired Drouin, a 2026 first-round pick (Colorado), a 2026 third-round selection and Marcus Gidlof from the Islanders on Friday in exchange for Brayden Schenn, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Drouin has registered three goals, 21 points and 73 shots on net through 55 appearances this campaign. He still has one more season remaining on his two-year, $8 million contract. Drouin could serve as a middle- or bottom-six forward for the Blues.
