Greaves will tend the twine on the road versus Buffalo on Friday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Greaves is mired in a three-game losing streak during which he posted a 4.02 GAA and has managed just one victory in his prior seven contests. With the 25-year-old netminder struggling, the Jackets have turned to Cam Talbot and may continue to do so if Greaves struggles linger.

Greaves stopped 14 of 16 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Stars. The third goal was an empty-netter.
Greaves didn't face a lot of traffic, but he wasn't able to fend off enough of it. Both goals he gave up came in the first period, and the Blue Jackets failed to catch up from that. Greaves is down to 2-5-0 with a 3.11 GAA and an .883 save percentage across eight appearances. Given his ongoing struggles and a tough three-game week ahead, Greaves may be best left on the bench in weekly formats. He's also a risky option for fantasy managers in daily leagues if he draws the home start against the Avalanche on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old netminder has had some uneven results to start the year, posting a 2-4-0 record with a 3.29 GAA and an .884 save percentage. Greaves made 24 saves in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Carolina.
The 25-year-old netminder hadn't played since Oct. 20 because of the Blue Jackets' light schedule and two straight starts for Cam Talbot. However, Greaves' time off didn't solve his problems or the team's issues at both ends of the ice. Through seven outings (six starts) so far in 2026-27, he's gone 2-4-0 with a 3.29 GAA and an .884 save percentage. Since a 6-3 win over Buffalo in Columbus' opener, Greaves' offense has averaged just 2.00 goals per game in his appearances.

The Leafs came in waves early, and there was little Greaves could do with his defenders on their heels. He's had a rough start to the season. In five starts, he's 2-3-0 with a 3.34 GAA, .883 save percentage and one shutout, and he has three games in which he's allowed four or more goals. Ugh. The Blue Jackets sit last in the Eastern Conference with a 3-5-0 record -- yes, even worse than the slow-starting Flyers -- and they're tied with Chicago for the fourth-worst record in the NHL. Greaves is good, but this could be a long season for him.
