Mikheyev scored twice in Thursday's 4-1 win over Chicago.
It was a revenge game for Mikheyev, who played the last two seasons in the Windy City before signing with Tampa Bay on July 1. His first goal made it 2-0 late in the first period; it stood as the winner. His second made it 4-0 early in the third. Mikheyev snapped a seven-game goal drought, and the snipes Thursday were just his second and third points in his last 12 games. He's on the third line, but with no power-play time, Mikheyev's fantasy value is limited. He has just 19 shots in his last 12 games, and 22 in 15 overall.

Mikheyev scored a goal Thursday in a 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken.
Mikheyev looked like he was playing Grand Theft Auto with the Kraken defense. He took the puck off Ville Ottavainen's stick in front of the net and then poked it past Philipp Grubauer. Mikheyev has settled into the third line, which disappoints many managers who draft him on the speculation that he'd be Nikita Kucherov's wingman. He has two goals, two assists and eight shots in seven games.

The veteran winger helped set up a Pontus Holmberg tally in the second period that proved to be the game-winner, then found the back of the net himself late in the third on a nifty wraparound. Mikheyev is skating on the third line and isn't getting power-play time to begin his Tampa Bay tenure, but he's still been productive with a goal and three points in his first three games.

Mikheyev signed a four-year, $15.4 million contract with the Lightning on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Mikheyev spent the past two seasons in Chicago. He recorded 18 goals, 18 assists, 31 hits, 23 blocked shots and 18 PIM while averaging 17:26 of ice time across 77 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. After racking up a career-high 36 points last year, he should occupy a bottom-six role with Tampa Bay in 2026-27.

Mikheyev generated the majority of Chicago's offense Saturday with goals in the second and third periods. With the pair of twine finders, the 31-year-old winger is up to 18 goals, 35 points, 120 shots on net, 31 hits and 22 blocked shots across 75 games this season. He's heating up with seven points over his last seven games. He could add more production to his career-high point total by the end of the regular season.
