Del Mastro recorded two assists, one shorthanded, in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Panthers.
The 23-year-old blueliner produced his first career multi-point night, having a hand in tallies by Roman Kantserov and Frank Nazar as Chicago tried to climb out of an early 3-0 hole. Del Mastro is getting some extra run with Bowen Byram (upper body) sidelined, suiting up for six of the last nine games and averaging 12:34 in ice time on the bottom pairing while delivering 14 hits and putting seven shots on net. Wednesday's points were his first of the season.

Del Mastro signed a two-year, $1.9 million contract with the Blackhawks on Wednesday.
Del Mastro was a restricted free agent coming off his three-year, entry-level contract. During the 2025-26 regular season, he had an assist and 18 PIM in 19 appearances with Chicago, as well as two goals, 18 points and 34 PIM across 45 outings with AHL Rockford. Del Mastro will compete for a third-pairing spot during training camp, but he's more likely to start the season as Chicago's seventh defenseman or be sent to the minors.

Del Mastro recorded an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.
It was Del Mastro's first point in 19 games this season. The 23-year-old defenseman added 18 shots on net, 18 PIM, 19 hits and 22 blocked shots while primarily playing on the third pairing. Del Mastro isn't as far along as some of the other Blackhawks' blue-line prospects. That could lead to him seeing more time in the AHL in 2026-27, barring a strong training camp in the fall.

Del Mastro has failed to generate a point in 17 games for the Blackhawks this year, so few fantasy managers figure to be impacted by his return to the lineup. Given his offensive limitations, the 23-year-old defenseman doesn't offer enough category coverage to make him more than a low-end depth option heading into 2026-27.

Del Mastro has no points, 14 shots, 18 PIM, 18 hits and 20 blocks in 17 NHL outings in 2025-26. He's averaged just 14:01 of ice time when he's in the lineup. It's unclear if he will be available to return before the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
