Cowan scored a goal, added four PIM and logged two hits in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Cowan's point streak is up to four games (three goals, three assists). The 21-year-old winger now has six goals, seven helpers, 29 shots on net, 13 hits, 12 PIM, seven blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 14 appearances. He's effectively moved into the role Matthew Knies used to fill on the left wing of Auston Matthews' line.

Cowan scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Rangers.
Cowan has four points over his last two games. The 21-year-old winger is making noise in a top-six role at even strength while also working on the second power-play unit. Cowan is up to five goals, six assists, 27 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-1 rating over 12 appearances. The near-point-per-game pace won't last forever, but Cowan looks to be setting the foundation of a breakout year.

Cowan had a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
The goal came shorthanded to push the score to 4-1. Cowan became the first Maple Leafs player age 21 or younger to score a shortie since Mitch Marner on Feb. 14, 2019. It was also Cowan's first NHL three-point game. He's sitting fourth in scoring on the Leafs with 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 11 games. He also has 23 shots in that span. He'll have a tough time maintaining that pace in his second NHL campaign, even if he sticks on Auston Matthews' line, but the kid has outperformed expectations at every level.

Cowan scored the game-winning goal Saturday in a 6-3 win over Colorado.
Cowan has a goal in each of his last two games and three (two assists) in six games. One of the goals came on the power play; two were game-winners. He also has nine shots in his last three games. Cowan has quietly stepped his game up this season, and his fantasy value continues to grow.

Cowan scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Golden Knights.
Cowan was moved up to the second line for this contest, trading places with Gavin McKenna. The move paid off early, as Cowan's tally put the Maple Leafs ahead 2-0 early in the first period. Through five contests, the 21-year-old winger has two goals, two assists, 11 shots on net, seven hits and an even plus-minus rating. If he can stick in the top six, Cowan has breakout potential this year, but Toronto is still mixing and matching the line combinations to find some consistent success.
