DeMelo picked up two assists Thursday in a 6-2 win over Vancouver.
He also had two shots and two blocked shots. DeMelo has five assists in his last four games (five shots, six hits and five blocks) after putting up just one goal and two assists in his previous 13. DeMelo's best offensive season came in 2023-24 in Winnipeg when he managed three goals, 28 assists and 93 shots in 82 games. He has 25 hits and 18 blocks in 17 games, and he's rung up five consecutive triple-digit seasons prior to this year. That's where DeMelo may have value, not his offense.

DeMelo has picked up three helpers over his last three games. The 33-year-old defenseman continues to play in a top-four role as a shutdown defender. He's at one goal, five assists, 13 shots on net, 25 hits, 16 blocked shots and 16 PIM through 16 appearances, giving him some appeal in banger leagues.

DeMelo scored a goal on one shot in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Bruins.
DeMelo made his only shot count, giving Winnipeg a 1-0 advantage at 4:52 of the first period with a one-timer from the point that beat a screened Jeremy Swayman high on the stick side. DeMelo isn't known for his scoring prowess, however, as he's posted 19-point seasons in each of the last two regular-season campaigns. With 100-plus hits and blocks in each of his last five campaigns, DeMelo has more fantasy upside in fantasy leagues that reward physicality and defensive stats.

DeMelo logged a shorthanded assist in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Penguins.
DeMelo had gone over two months without a point, earning 29 shots on net, 28 hits and 27 blocked shots over that 22-game slump. The 32-year-old defenseman was credited with the secondary helper on Cole Koepke's shorthanded tally in the second period. DeMelo is up to 18 points (two shorthanded), 65 shots on net, 99 hits, 95 blocked shots and 36 PIM over 69 outings this season, playing primarily in a shutdown role in the top four.

DeMelo's point drought reached 19 games in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche.
During the slump, DeMelo has 27 shots on net, a minus-2 rating, 25 hits and 25 blocked shots. He is primarily a defensive player in a top-four role on the blue line, so the lack of offense isn't a surprise, especially considering the Jets' overall struggles this season. DeMelo has 17 points, 62 shots on net, 96 hits, 92 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 65 appearances. He's at risk of falling short of the 20-point mark for a second straight year if he doesn't end the slump soon.
