Orlov notched two power-play assists in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Kings.
Orlov has earned a goal and four helpers over his last seven games, but he's also posted a minus-8 rating in that span. The 35-year-old defenseman has been working the point on the top power-play unit, but rookie Eric Pohlkamp got some shifts in that role Wednesday in his NHL debut. Orlov has eight points (six on the power play), 16 shots on net, 23 hits, 17 blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-14 rating across 17 appearances on the year.

Orlov scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins.
Both of Orlov's goals this season have come with the man advantage. He was used sparingly in that situation early on, but he's returned to the top unit after Luca Cagnoni failed to run with the role. Orlov has five points, 12 shots on net, 18 hits, 14 blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-6 rating over 12 outings. He'll be a decent all-around option, especially in leagues that don't use plus-minus rating.

Orlov's helper came off Michael Misa's power-play goal. The 35-year-old Orlov set a career high with 37 points in 82 regular-season appearances with San Jose in 2025-26, largely due to his 18 power-play points. Orlov might retain his spot on the Sharks' top power-play unit when the 2026-27 campaign starts, but he'd be occupying that role because San Jose lacks good options. If Sam Dickinson develops as hoped, then he might snatch that job away from Orlov. Jacob Trouba and Luca Cagnoni might also get looks on the top power-play unit.

Orlov has two goals and one assist in his last three games (seven shots) after scoring just once in his first 65 games. He has 29 points, including 26 assists, in 68 contests this season. That's Orlov's best offensive campaign since he put up regular seasons of 35 and 36 points in 2021-22 and 2022-23. He has 14 power-play points (one goal, 13 assists) this season, which is by and far his best production there. His previous best was eight PPP, which he put up in 2022-23.
