Timmins (lower body) is expected to be available for Wednesday's game against Ottawa, coach Lindy Ruff told Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.
Although Ruff has declared that Timmins is ready, the 28-year-old defenseman is expected to be a healthy scratch Wednesday, according to Bill Hoppe of the Buffalo Hockey Beat. Timmins has been activated from injured reserve, per the NHL media site. It's unclear when he will make his 2026-27 debut, but he will be an option moving forward. He recorded eight assists in 39 regular-season appearances with Buffalo last year.

Timmins (lower body) doesn't have a timeline for his return yet, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com on Tuesday.
After getting hurt in Saturday's preseason finale against Pittsburgh, Timmins is on injured reserve for the beginning of the 2026-27 campaign. He registered eight assists, 44 shots on goal, 81 blocked shots and 29 hits in 39 regular-season appearances with Buffalo in 2025-26.

Timmins was placed on injured reserve by the Sabres for an undisclosed reason Monday.
It's not yet clear what injury Timmins is dealing with, but he'll be forced to miss the start of the regular season after being placed on injured reserve. Timmins has played in all eight postseason games, but this was his first point of the playoffs. He's added nine shots on net, 19 blocked shots, six hits and six PIM. Timmins fills a third-pairing role, though he could get rotated out of the lineup if head coach Lindy Ruff feels the need to make a change on defense.

This was Timmins' second game back from a broken leg. The 27-year-old has retaken a third-pairing role for now, but there's no guarantee he'll stay in the lineup over Michael Kesselring or Luke Schenn on a regular basis for the rest of the season.
