  • Fantasy hockey weekly picks: Can't get MacKinnon? Add his linemate instead!

Begin your fantasy hockey week with forwards, defensemen, goalies and streamers to add to your lineup.

    ESPN · Oct 5

  • McNabb logged two assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Multi-point efforts won't be a regular thing for McNabb, but he can chip in some offense in a top-four role. His biggest source of fantasy value comes from blocked shots, especially if new head coach Ryan Craig doesn't make too many changes to Vegas' defensive style. McNabb was held to 12 points with 110 hits and 142 blocked shots over 63 regular-season appearances last year, but he had reached the 20-point mark in the previous two campaigns. Keep him in mind in deeper fantasy formats as well as banger leagues.

  • McNabb produced two assists and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

McNabb wore a full face shield and had visible stitches on his nose, the result of taking a slap shot to the face in Game 2 on Thursday. The 35-year-old defenseman still skated 35:47 in this marathon contest, and he chipped in primary assists on the second goal of Mitch Marner's hat trick as well as Shea Theodore's winner 5:38 into the second overtime. McNabb mostly functions as a shutdown defenseman, but he's earned six helpers over his last four games. Overall, he's at nine points, 19 shots on net, 34 hits, 33 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 18 playoff contests. He'll likely be able to continue playing as long as he can manage the pain from his injured face, and he'll be counted on for top-four minutes.

  • McNabb (face) is expected to be in the lineup for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals versus the Hurricanes on Saturday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

McNabb was able to fly home with his teammates Friday after taking a slap shot to the face in Game 2 on Thursday. He is wearing a full cage on his helmet, so it's clear he's not 100 percent. McNabb will nonetheless try to tough it out, so he can be expected to fill a top-four role in Game 3.

  • McNabb (face) will travel back home with the team ahead of Game 3 against the Hurricanes on Saturday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

McNabb has appeared in 17 postseason games for Vegas in 2026, registering one goal, six assists and 18 shots while averaging 19:59 of ice time. If the blueliner misses out on Game 3, then Kaedan Korczak would likely step back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch for the last two games.

  • McNabb went to the hospital after taking a puck to the face during Thursday's Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals versus the Hurricanes, per the ESPN broadcast.

McNabb was hit by a slap shot in the first period and immediately left the ice. A trip to the hospital raises the level of concern regarding the injury, but the Golden Knights typically keep things close to the vest with updates. It's unclear at this time if McNabb will be able to suit up in Game 3 on Saturday.
