Imama logged five PIM in Friday's 5-2 win over the Jets.
Imama got into a fight with Tyrel Bauer in this contest. The 30-year-old Imama has brought the expected toughness in a bottom-six role, but he hasn't surprised anyone by chipping in more offense. He's yet to record a point while racking up 39 hits, 36 PIM, eight shots on net and a minus-3 rating over 14 appearances. He could lose his place in the lineup once the Panthers get some injured forwards back.

Imama signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Imama brings some grit to the lineup, but he hasn't shown much offense in the NHL. With the Penguins last season, he logged three hits and five PIM over two appearances in December. He also had six goals, five assists and 137 PIM in 66 regular-season games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Imama will probably spend most of 2026-27 in the AHL.

Imama has been re-assigned to the AHL by the Penguins, the team announced Sunday.
Imama got into two games in this NHL stint with the Penguins but skated under 10 minutes in each of them. The 29-year-old is a roster casualty of the returns of Justin Brazeau (upper body) and Noel Acciari (upper body) from injured reserve. Imama will return to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he has four points (three goals, one assist) in 19 games.

Imama was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.
Pittsburgh also brought up Rutger McGroarty from the minors ahead of Monday's matchup against Philadelphia. Both forwards could be in the lineup versus the Flyers after the Penguins assigned Tristan Broz and Danton Heinen to the AHL on Sunday.

Imama was placed on waivers Saturday.
Imama underwent biceps surgery in March and was able to partake in training camp. He could be recalled during the season if the Penguins need some physical play, assuming he passes through waivers. However, he will likely start the upcoming campaign with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Imama (biceps) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.
Imama underwent biceps surgery in March with a timeline of 4-6 months for his return. It appears he was able to maintain the shorter end of that timeline, which means he is not expected to be limited to begin training camp. The 29-year-old winger will compete for a fourth-line role and could make the Opening Night roster as a source of physical play after racking up 45 hits and 30 PIM over 16 NHL games last season.
