Jones played in two games with the Flames during his recall from the minors, but he was a healthy scratch in Monday's 5-2 win over Toronto. With Mikael Backlund back from an upper-body injury, Jones will return to the minors. The 27-year-old Jones has notched seven goals and two assists in seven AHL appearances this season.

Jones is up to six goals, two assists and 14 shots on net over six appearances. He's already halfway to matching his AHL goal total from last year, which came in 37 contests when he wasn't filling a depth role for the Wild at the NHL level. Jones will probably spend most of 2026-27 with the AHL club, but he could get rewarded with a call-up if he continues to play well.
