Hayton scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Oilers.
Hayton stretched his point streak to five games with this tally. That stretch accounts for all of his offense (one goal, five assists, two power-play points) on the season. Hayton has added 14 shots on net, five blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-5 rating. He's seeing time on the third line and second power-play unit to begin 2026-27, giving him some appeal in deeper fantasy formats.

Hayton played the primary pass on the tallies put away by Kailer Yamamoto and John Marino. The 26-year-old Hayton has played a nice secondary role from the team's third line to begin 2026-27, where he's compiled four assists, a plus-3 rating, 11 shots on net and four blocked shots across six games. He's currently on a three-game point streak, making him a decent streaming option in deep fantasy leagues for as long as he's playing an important role offensively.

Hayton was hampered by injuries last year, logging just 67 regular-season games and missing the bulk of the postseason. In those outings, the 26-year-old center notched 10 goals and 15 helpers, including six power-play points. With a full 84-game season, Hayton should be capable of challenging for both the 20-goal and 50-point thresholds.

Hayton had previously agreed to an offer sheet with the Devils, but the Mammoth agreed to match the deal to retain the forward's services. In 67 regular-season games last year, the Ontario native notched 10 goals and 15 assists, including six power-play points. If Hayton can stay healthy, he should be capable of getting back to being a 20-goal, 40-point producer for Utah in 2026-27.

The Mammoth have seven days to match the offer or accept a second-round pick as compensation. The 26-year-old Hayton is coming off a down year in which he had 10 goals, 15 assists, 119 shots on net, 54 PIM, 34 hits and 29 blocked shots over 67 regular-season games. He was out of the lineup for the last 10 regular-season contests and five of the Mammoth's six playoff games due to his upper-body issue. If Utah matches, Hayton is looking at a reduced role in 2026-27 after the team brought in top-six options Vincent Trocheck and Anders Lee on Wednesday.
