Xhekaj scored a goal on two shots, blocked two shots and added five PIM in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Mammoth.
Xhekaj has a goal and two assists over his last three games, as well as 12 PIM and six hits. The 25-year-old defenseman has gotten the chance to play regularly on the third pairing this season. He offers plenty of toughness with 30 PIM, 23 hits and 13 blocked shots over 15 outings, but the offense is still a work in progress.

Xhekaj registered an assist and two hits in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Penguins.
Xhekaj has filled a third-pairing role for much of the season. This was his first point in 13 outings. He also has seven shots on net, 19 hits, nine blocked shots, 18 PIM and an even plus-minus rating. Xhekaj's playing time will be relatively safe as long as Mike Matheson (lower body) is sidelined, which is expected to be at least two weeks. Xhekaj can be helpful in banger leagues but isn't a factor in standard fantasy formats.

Xhekaj signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with Montreal on Tuesday.
Xhekaj chipped in one goal, three assists and 40 shots on net while adding 116 PIM and 178 hits in 65 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. He may not play regularly in the 2026-27 campaign, but he should be a good source of banger-league statistics whenever he is in the lineup.

Xhekaj tied the game at 1-1 with his first career playoff goal. He's up to two points, eight shots on net, 44 hits, six blocked shots, 28 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 12 playoff contests this year. Xhekaj's not a firm lock for the lineup, but he's been active for all but one game this postseason despite a fairly limited role on the third pairing.

Xhekaj has gotten a chance to play regularly in the absence of Alexandre Carrier (upper body). This was Xhekaj's fourth straight game in the lineup. The defenseman snapped a 30-game point drought dating back to Dec. 16 versus the Flyers. He has just three points with 36 shots on net, 110 PIM, 158 hits and 37 blocked shots over 59 appearances this season. Xhekaj should continue to see playing time until Carrier is healthy.
