The game was never in doubt. Vasilevskiy carried a shutout into the last minute of play when Roman Kantserov scored with 50 seconds left in the game. It didn't take much for him to dominate the Hawks -- they've scored the fewest goals (37) in the NHL. Still, a win is a win. He's been integral to the Bolts perfection at home this season. Their home winning streak is eight games long.

Vasilevskiy is expected to start at home against Chicago on Thursday, per Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley.
Vasilevskiy has a 7-3-1 record, 2.91 GAA and .879 save percentage in 11 appearances with Tampa Bay in 2026-27. He stopped 19 of 21 shots en route to a 4-2 victory over Detroit in his last start Tuesday. Chicago is 4-11-1 and has averaged just 2.25 goals per game this season.

His team spotted him a 3-0 lead by the 8:41 mark of the second frame, but the outcome was never in doubt. The Wings did claw back after turning the heat up in the third period, but Vasilevskiy turned in some big saves to preserve the lead. It was good to see him batten down the proverbial hatches and allow just two goals. Vasilevskiy had allowed 13 goals in his previous three games (1-1-1). Overall, he's 7-3-1 with a 2.91 GAA and .879 save percentage.
