Vlasic is questionable for Thursday's game against the Red Wings due to an illness, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
Vlasic didn't participate in Thursday's morning skate, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss a game due to his illness. The 25-year-old defenseman has appeared in each of the Blackhawks' first 12 games of the regular season, recording two assists, 17 blocked shots, four hits and two PIM while averaging 20:26 of ice time.

Vlasic contributed two assists in a 4-3 loss to Buffalo on Saturday.
This is shaping up to be a long season for Vlasic and so many of the Blackhawks' young players. The team was outscored 11-2 in its first two games this season, and while Saturday was better, Chicago only mustered 15 shots. Vlasic's best season came in 2024-25 when he posted 30 points, including 12 on the power play, in 82 games. He'll be counted on for strong own-zone play this campaign, so his fantasy value will be limited to blocks and shots.

He won't match last year's 30-point performance, as he's evolved into more of a shutdown defenseman after regularly serving as an overall No. 1 option for the Blackhawks last year, which included more power-play usage.

Vlasic registered a pair of secondary helpers Tuesday, which snapped his five-game streak without a point. Overall, the 24-year-old blueliner is up to 10 assists, 12 points, 49 shots on goal and 71 blocks through 48 games this season. While Vlasic's start to the season hasn't gone as planned after his 30-point campaign a year ago, he should have plenty of opportunities to make a push towards that number thanks to his top-pairing role.
