Steeves scored a goal and added four assists in AHL Providence's 8-0 win over Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
Steeves had started slowly in the AHL this season before this breakout game. He now has seven points over 10 contests on the year. The slow start didn't help his case after he missed out on the Bruins' Opening Night roster, but he'll be a candidate for a call-up later in the year if injuries pile up at the NHL level.

Steeves was placed on waivers by the Bruins on Saturday.
After a productive first year of seeing regular playing time at the NHL level, Steeves will begin the 2026-27 campaign in the minors if he goes unclaimed. The 26-year-old winger was solid from his bottom-six role, where he posted nine goals, 16 points, 55 shots on net, 144 hits and 27 blocked shots across 43 regular-season games. If he clears waivers over the next 24 hours, he'll likely play a large role for AHL Providence. Steeves will likely see some NHL playing time in 2026-27 if the Bruins' forward group runs into injury trouble.

Steeves was scratched for the ninth straight game in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers.
The Bruins have mostly stuck with the same group of forwards lately, leaving Steeves out of the lineup for all but three of 19 games since the Olympic break. Lukas Reichel has been the one to snag the bottom-six role Steeves was operating in prior to the break. It's still been a decent campaign for Steeves, who has 16 points, 52 shots on net, 140 hits, 32 PIM and 27 blocked shots over 41 appearances in his first year with the Bruins.

Steeves scored a goal and added two hits in Sunday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Lightning in the Stadium Series.
Steeves had been scratched for the previous two games, but he replaced Pavel Zacha (upper body) for the Stadium Series contest. The goal snapped a 15-game goal drought, and he had gone eight outings without a point entering Sunday. Steeves saw some top-six usage earlier in the season, but until his offense improves, he looks to be firmly in a bottom-six role. The 26-year-old is at nine goals, 15 points, 46 shots on net, 123 hits, 32 PIM, 25 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 37 appearances.

Steeves signed a two-year, $3.25 million contract extension with the Bruins on Wednesday.
Steeves has proved his mettle in his first full year at the NHL level, which has led to finding an everyday role with the Bruins since being called up from the minors in mid-November. He's flashed the ability to heat up offensively while posting eight goals, 14 points, 44 shots on net, 117 hits and 22 blocked shots across 33 games this season. He should continue to supply decent category coverage from a bottom-six role moving forward.

Steeves remains in the power-play mix despite dropping into a bottom-six role in recent games. It'll be tough for him to sustain his success from late November and early December without more proximity to Boston's best players, but he is doing enough to stick around in the NHL. The 26-year-old is at eight goals, two helpers, 30 shots on net, 81 hits, 23 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 21 appearances.
