  • Raty was traded to the Maple Leafs from the Canucks on Thursday in exchange for Jacob Quillan and Brandon Buhr.

Raty passed through waivers earlier Thursday, which makes it moderately surprising that the Canucks were able to get anything for him. The 23-year-old forward will likely be in the AHL with the Marlies given Toronto has a stronger forward group than Vancouver. Raty had one goal in four appearances with the Canucks to begin this season.

  • Raty was put on waivers by Vancouver on Wednesday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Raty has a goal in four appearances with the Canucks in 2026-27. He also had four goals and 14 points in 66 regular-season outings with Vancouver last campaign. If he clears waivers, Raty will presumably report to AHL Abbotsford.

  • Raty scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Flames.

Raty took a hit from Kevin Bahl in the second period that sent the Canuck to the locker room, but he was able to finish the game. Raty got the last laugh with the empty-netter to open his account for the season. The 23-year-old center was scratched for the first two contests of the campaign, but he got to draw in because Jake DeBrusk (illness) was unavailable. Raty may not be a full-time player early in the campaign, but he could fill in if injuries or trades occur. Last year, Raty logged 14 points and 165 hits over 66 regular-season appearances.

  • Raty will likely have opportunities to take on an expanded role during the 2026-27 season, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports Monday.

Drance reports that there were times last season in which Raty wasn't in the good graces of former head coach Adam Foote, but the 23-year-old center should benefit from a fresh start under new bench boss Manny Malhotra. Across 66 regular-season appearances last year, Raty generated four goals, 10 assists, 165 hits, 22 PIM and 16 blocked shots while averaging 12:01 of ice time, and he should have plenty of chances to showcase his two-way prowess this season.

  • Raty scored a goal and added three hits in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.

Raty hadn't scored since Dec. 6 versus the Wild, when he had two goals and an assist. The 23-year-old was limited to one assist over a 24-game span, but he was able to snap the slump with a second-period tally Tuesday. For the season, he's at four goals, 13 points, 51 shots on net, 122 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 51 appearances. While the offense isn't always there, he's shown decent defensive responsibility in a fourth-line role.

  • Raty's point drought reached 13 games in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Kraken.

Raty is playing regularly again after the Canucks shipped David Kampf to the Capitals at the trade deadline. That hasn't helped Raty's offense -- in addition to the point drought, he's gone 24 contests without a goal, posting just one assist in that span. His work early in the campaign means he still has a career year with 12 points over 50 outings, and he's brought a physical edge with 119 hits, but there's not much to like about a bottom-six forward on a low-scoring team when it comes to fantasy value.
