Jax will start Game 4 of the World Series against the Brewers on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Jax took the loss in his last playoff start against the Guardians in Game 3 of the ALCS, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over four innings of work. He'll face a scorching Milwaukee offense Tuesday as the Rays attempt to extend the series after dropping the first three games.

Jax was charged with the loss in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Guardians on Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks over four-plus innings.
Jax entered the fifth inning with a 2-1 lead, but he surrendered an infield single and a two-run homer to begin that frame before getting the hook. It was the first start of the playoffs for the right-hander, who made one relief appearance during the ALDS and gave up a run over two innings. Jax will likely be in the mix to start a possible Game 7 for Tampa Bay.

Jax will start Thursday in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Guardians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Jax's lone appearance so far this postseason came in relief, as he allowed one run with four strikeouts over two innings in the Rays' ALDS Game 3 clincher versus the Yankees. Nick Martinez was the starter for that contest, but manager Kevin Cash will opt for Jax to take the ball Thursday. Jax hasn't covered five innings in a start in more than three weeks, so Tampa Bay will need its bullpen to handle a significant chunk of Game 3.

Jax (back) allowed a run on one hit and one walk over two innings during Game 3 of the ALDS against the Yankees on Wednesday.
The right-hander exited his final outing of the regular season due to a lower-back contusion after being struck by a 104-mph comebacker, but he had a week and a half to rest up before entering Wednesday's series clincher. Jax, who posted a 3.14 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 106:28 K:BB in 23 starts during the regular season, and Ian Seymour should be the candidates to start Game 4 of the ALCS for Tampa Bay.

Jax was removed from Saturday's start against the Phillies due to a lower-back contusion, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Jax took a 104 mph comebacker off the bat of Trea Turner in the third inning, which ended up being a groundout for the Phillies shortstop to end the inning. Steven Matz took the mound for the Rays in the fourth, but it was a precautionary decision, as both Jax and manager Kevin Cash told reporters after the game that the right-hander wouldn't miss any time, per Topkin. The American League Divisional Series will begin Oct. 3.

Jax (8-10) earned the win against the Red Sox on Sunday, allowing three hits and issuing two walks while striking out five over five scoreless innings.
Jax was spotted an early lead and ran with it despite throwing just 47 of 74 pitches for strikes. The 31-year-old has now logged consecutive scoreless efforts and owns a 3.57 ERA through four September outings despite yielding six earned runs in his return from the injured list Sep. 2. He'll carry a 3.62 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 115:35 K:BB across 109.1 innings this year into a final regular-season matchup at the Phillies next weekend.
