Latest news

  • Agnos didn't factor into the decision against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing no runs on two hits and one walk in 2.2 relief innings. He struck out one.

The Rockies went with a bullpen game, and Agnos opened the contest as well as Colorado could have hoped. It was the right-hander's third starting assignment of the year, and he's been effective with a 1.69 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB in 10.2 innings out of the rotation versus a 6.09 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB across 68 innings from the bullpen. He's worked at least five innings just one time this season and has yet to reach the 80-pitch marker, so Agnos may struggle for streaming appeal if he draws another start.

  • Agnos will start Saturday's game against Atlanta.

Agnos will be filling in for Ryan Feltner, who was scratched from his start due to an illness. Agnos has logged a 5.68 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 76 innings with the Rockies this season and hasn't thrown more than three innings in an appearance since May, so his outing Saturday is likely to be relatively brief.

  • Agnos (0-2) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out two over 2.2 innings of relief, taking the loss Friday versus the Athletics.

Agnos returned to the bullpen after making a start versus the Brewers last Saturday. The 25-year-old was responsible for the Athletics' two-run frames in the sixth and eighth innings. With a 7.80 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 30:18 K:BB through 42.2 innings over 18 appearances (two starts), Agnos probably won't get many more chances to start. Sean Sullivan was called up Friday to make his big-league debut and tossed three scoreless innings before leaving the game due to an illness, but the last spot in the Rockies' rotation will likely go to Sullivan until Tanner Gordon (hip) is ready to return.

  • Agnos (0-1) allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out one over three innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Brewers.

Agnos threw 57 pitches (33 strikes) in his second start of the season. He gave up solo home runs to Brice Turang and David Hamilton. Over 40 innings through 17 appearances this season, Agnos has a 7.65 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB. The right-hander filled in as the Rockies' fifth starter following Tanner Gordon's (hip) move to the injured list, but it's unclear if Colorado will keep Agnos in a starting role moving forward. This spot in the rotation is set to come up again in a road series versus the Athletics next weekend.

  • The Rockies recalled Agnos from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Agnos will rejoin the big-league roster to provide extra bullpen depth as Tanner Gordon (hip) moves to the injured list. Agnos has performed poorly in the majors this season, accumulating a 7.78 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through 37 innings.

  • The Rockies optioned Agnos to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

The move makes room on the 26-man roster for TJ Shook, who had his contract selected by the Rockies. Agnos has struggled on the mound as of late, having given up 14 earned runs over his last two outings spanning three frames. That has ballooned his numbers to a 7.78 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 37 innings this season. Agnos will work on his command issues in the minors and could return to the big club should the Rockies need more right-handed depth out of the bullpen.
