  • Veen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Veen has gone 4-for-22 (.182 average) with 12 strikeouts in his past 14 contests and will take a seat Sunday for the fourth time in the past seven games. Jake McCarthy, Cole Carrigg and Troy Johnston will start from left to right in the outfield Sunday while Mickey Moniak serves as the designated hitter.

  • Veen is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

The left-handed-hitting Veen will be relegated to the bench for the third game in a row, with two of those absences coming against left-handed pitching. Since getting called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Aug. 11, Veen has posted a strong .791 OPS, though he's struck out in 13 of his 34 plate appearances (38.2 percent).

  • Veen went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Friday against Atlanta.

Veen hit well immediately after being recalled in mid-August, but he entered Friday's game having gone hitless across his last six games and 10 at-bats while striking out seven times in that span. Veen snapped out of that slump with a pair of singles in the loss. He has started nine of 10 games against right-handed pitching since being promoted.

  • Veen is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting Veen will hit the bench against a right-handed starter (Matt Waldron) for the first time since being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Aug. 11. Veen homered in his first two games this season, but over his last eight contests, he's gone 3-for-18 with a 0:10 BB:K. Jake McCarthy, Cole Carrigg and Mickey Moniak will play the outfield, and Troy Johnston will serve as the designated hitter for the Rockies on Wednesday.

  • Veen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

The Rockies will keep the left-handed-hitting Veen on the bench for the second time in the series while the Guardians send another lefty (Foster Griffin) to the bump. Jordan Beck will draw the start in right field in place of Veen.

  • Veen is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

The lefty-swinging Veen has started all four games versus righties and has now sat out both contests against lefties since being promoted, so he's being used in a strict long-side platoon role. Jordan Beck will cover right field for the Rockies.
