Moncada (knee) isn't expected to play again this season, MLB.com reports.
Moncada underwent right knee surgery in early June. He's been rehabbing at his home in Florida but isn't close to a return to game action. In the likely event that Moncada's campaign is indeed over, he'll finish with a .189/.308/.297 slash line, three homers, nine runs, 10 RBI and one stolen base over 41 games.

Moncada (knee) has been rehabbing at his home and hasn't started baseball activities, MLB.com reports.
Moncada underwent right knee surgery in mid-June and was consequently placed on the 60-day IL. While the veteran third baseman is expected to return this season, a definitive timeline isn't clear given his inability to resume baseball activities to this point. Moncada was shifted to the 60-day injured list earlier Monday, and those his injury had previously been described as knee inflammation, the limited progress he's made since suffering the injury in late May looks to have prompted him to opt for surgery. The Angels transferred Moncada (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.
The move opens a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster for Trey Mancini, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Salt Lake. Moncada said Thursday that he's been dealing with knee problems lately, which helps explain why he's been absent from the lineup for each of the Angels' last three games. He received an MRI on Friday, and although the team is still waiting for the results, they'll move him to the IL to ensure he has time to recover. Donovan Walton was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move and will start at third base Friday against Texas, though Vaughn Grissom could also be in the mix for reps at the hot corner until Moncada returns.
