Latest news

  • Warren (11-6) earned the win against the Orioles in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out seven over 3.2 scoreless innings.

Warren appeared out of the bullpen for the second time in September and dominated, throwing 39 of 54 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs. It concluded a strong month for the 27-year-old, who went 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA and 25:8 K over five appearances (three starts). He'll finish the regular season with a 3.92 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 158:54 K across 156 innings and may work in a similar capacity to Friday for the Yankees in the postseason.

  • Warren will not start in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Instead, the Yankees will deploy Ryan Yarbrough as the opener for the second game of Friday's twin bill, with Warren expected to follow in relief. In 12 games since the All-Star break, Warren has a 4.00 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 54 innings.

  • Warren allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Warren was mostly cruising until getting into trouble in the fifth inning. He left a bases-loaded mess for Brent Headrick, who then served up a grand slam to Nolan Arenado. Warren hadn't been charged with more than three runs in any of his previous six outings, posting a 1.80 ERA over 30 innings in that span. For the season, he has a 4.02 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 151:54 K:BB through 152.1 innings over 31 games (29 starts). He's projected for one more regular-season start at home versus the Orioles.

  • Warren allowed two runs (both unearned) on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Monday.

Warren cruised through five scoreless frames before giving up two runs in the sixth. The right-hander was hurt in that inning by a one-out error and a two-out infield single before yielding a two-run triple. Warren was pulled after that hit and was thus unable to notch a second straight quality start, but this was nonetheless another positive outing for him. Across his past four appearances, he's given up just two earned runs over 21 innings while posting a 21:6 K:BB. Warren has lowered his season ERA to 3.89 during that span, and he's projected to next take the mound in Arizona.

  • Warren (10-6) earned the win against Colorado on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out eight.

Granted a favorable home matchup against the lowly Rockies, Warren capitalized on the opportunity with an excellent start and his most strikeouts since June 20 versus the Reds. The right-hander has been very effective for both the Yankees and fantasy managers alike lately, giving up two earned runs or fewer in five consecutive outings. He'll carry a season 4.05 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 141:49 K:BB over 142.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance in Minnesota.
