  • Wells (forearm) said Friday that he'll be ready to go for the ALDS against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Wells went down with right forearm tightness in mid-Sedptember, but he's bounced back quickly and doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing out on ALDS play. The tall right-hander was officially activated from the 15-day injured list Monday after the Rays finished the regular season. Wells has collected a 2.38 ERA and 72:18 K:BB over 72 frames between the Orioles and Rays in 2026.

  • Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that Wells (forearm) "looked really good" in a throwing session Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Wells has been sidelined for the past two weeks with right forearm tightness, but he has a good chance to be cleared to be on the Rays' ALDS roster.     Wells recorded his sixth straight appearance without an earned run allowed, and his 15th in his last 16 outings. In 11 games with Tampa Bay, Wells owns a 1.93 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, 13:4 K:BB and two saves over 14 innings.

    Bryan Baker is getting an extended breather after working three straight days from Saturday to Monday, so Wells got a chance to pick up his first save for the Rays and didn't squander it.
