Holton (2-5) tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Wednesday's 7-2 victory over the Twins. He struck out two.
The southpaw came on in relief after Keider Montero started the game and lasted four innings. The short start allowed Holton to earn just his second win of the season and first since June 1. He's pitched well out of Detroit's bullpen with a 2.74 ERA across 69 innings this year, and he's now rattled off eight straight scoreless appearances.

Holton struck out the side in a clean inning of relief to earn the save in Sunday's 3-1, 10-inning victory over the Giants.
Regular closer Kenley Jansen worked the bottom of the ninth inning in a 1-1 tie, and just like Holton, struck out the side. Holton then came on in the bottom of the 10th to protect a 3-1 lead, and he needed 12 pitches to mow down the Giants in order and record his second save of the season. The lefty has been good this year with a 2.78 ERA overall, and he's been even better lately, posting a 1.38 ERA and 0.85 WHIP across his last 10 appearances.

Holton tossed two perfect innings of relief to record a hold in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Giants. He struck out two.
Holton continued his strong play out of the Detroit bullpen this season as he recorded his 10th hold of the year and lowered his ERA to 2.83. The lefty isn't a great source of strikeouts, with only 41 of them across 54 innings, and he has a career 7.3 K/9. However, Holton has managed to find success in the majors, particularly against left-handed batters, who are hitting just .178 all time against the 30-year-old.

Detroit announced that Holton will act as the opener for Friday's matchup against the Athletics, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
With Casey Mize scratched with his trade interest heating up, the Tigers will send out Holton to open Friday's matchup with the A's. Holton has started two prior games this season. On the campaign, the 30-year-old owns a 3.04 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 37:11 K:BB through 47.1 innings. The left-hander has recorded scoreless outings in seven of his last eight appearances.

Holton picked up the save in Monday's 8-6 extra-inning win over the Cubs. He allowed one unearned run on two hits and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.
After closer Kenley Jansen worked a scoreless ninth inning to force an extra inning, Holton was called upon to finish things off in the 10th frame. Entering with a three-run lead, the southpaw allowed the automatic runner to score and brought the winning run to the plate with two outs, but he induced a weak groundout from Carson Kelly to secure his first save of the season. Holton has been a reliable middle reliever in 2026, posting a 3.05 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB with nine holds across 44.1 innings.

Holton tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn a hold in Saturday's 4-1 win over the White Sox. He allowed two hits ans struck out two.
The southpaw was an effective bridge between starter Troy Melton, who allowed just one run across six solid innings, and closer Kenley Jansen. Holton lowered his ERA to 3.60 and earned his seventh hold of the season, which is tied for second on the team behind Kyle Finnegan's nine. Like he's done the past three years, Holton has been a trusted reliever for the Tigers who's capable of providing multiple innings.
