• The Blue Jays assigned Andrews to Triple-A Buffalo after he cleared waivers Sunday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Andrews was DFA'd by the Blue Jays on Thursday in order to make room on the 40-man roster for Chad Dallas. Andrews went unclaimed off waivers and will return to Buffalo, where he has a 1.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, five saves and a 23:15 K:BB over 21 innings this season.

• The Blue Jays designated Andrews for assignment Thursday.

Andrews turned in a pair of scoreless outings after being selected to the active roster last week but was optioned back to Triple-A shortly thereafter. He'll now end up as the odd man out of a 40-man spot to make room for Chad Dallas, who was selected to the big-league roster in a corresponding move. Andrews owns a 1.29 ERA through 21 innings at Buffalo, which could draw interest on the waiver wire from teams in search of bullpen help.

Andrews logged a pair of scoreless appearances after getting his first big-league promotion earlier this week. The Blue Jays are replacing him with a fresh bullpen arm in Austin Voth.

• The Blue Jays selected Andrews' contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

Andrews has operated out of Buffalo's bullpen for the entire 2026 season and has a 1.35 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, five saves and a 22:14 K:BB across 20 innings in Triple-A. He'll be available out of the Blue Jays' bullpen for Monday's series opener against the Marlins, and Andrews' first call to the mound will officially mark his major-league debut. The move corresponds with Dylan Cease (hamstring) being placed on the 15-day injured list.
