  • Peralta elected free agency Saturday.

Peralta lost his spot on the 40-man roster when he was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday. The veteran reliever ultimately decided to turn down that assignment and become a free agent instead. Peralta struggled over 16 appearances between the Rockies and Angels last year, posting a 6.65 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB over 23 innings while notching two holds and one blown save.

  • The Angels outrighted Peralta to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

The transaction frees a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster. Since he's been outrighted previously, Peralta has the ability to decline the assignment and become a free agent. He holds a career 5.64 ERA and 60:33 K:BB over 68.2 innings covering parts of four big-league seasons.

  • The Angels recalled Peralta from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

Peralta has given up five earned runs over 5.2 major-league innings this season, but he'll be welcomed back into the Angels' bullpen in order to make up for the loss of Samy Natera (back). Peralta isn't likely to see much work outside of low-leverage situations.

  • The Angels optioned Peralta to Triple-A Salt Lake following Friday's game against the Royals.

Peralta was recalled from the minors ahead of Friday's game and he went on to toss two innings in the series opener against Kansas City, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters. He'll head back to Triple-A, where he's spent most of the 2026 season and has a 6.93 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 49.1 innings. Michael Fulmer's contract was selected by the Angels in a corresponding move to bolster their bullpen.

  • The Angels selected Peralta's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Peralta signed a minor-league contract with the Angels in late June and will now work out the team's bullpen after Shaun Anderson (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The left-hander's numbers across 15 games with Salt Lake haven't been great, as he has a 9.37 ERA and 2.05 WHIP over 16.1 innings.

  • Peralta struck out two batters and allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk over 1.1 innings Sunday in an appearance with Triple-A Salt Lake after signing a minor-league deal with the Angels on Saturday.

Peralta has caught on with his third organization of the season, after prior stops with the Brewers and Rockies. The 28-year-old lefty reliever saw his lone big-league action this season with Colorado, giving up three earned runs over 2.2 innings before the Rockies booted him off the 40-man roster June 21.
