Atlanta selected Tellez's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Harrison Smajovits of SI.com reports.
Tellez will serve as a potential pinch-hit option off the bench for Atlanta. The 31-year-old went 2-for-10 with one home run during his brief time with the big club this season.

Atlanta re-signed Tellez to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Tellez elected free agency this past weekend after being removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster, but he's now back in the organization on a new deal. The 31-year-old will give the club some experienced first-base/designated-hitter depth at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Tellez elected to become a free agent after Atlanta outrighted him to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Tellez appeared in seven games for Atlanta this season, going 2-for-10 with a home run, four RBI and a 1:3 BB:K. The veteran first baseman also posted an .850 OPS with eight home runs, 33 RBI and three stolen bases across 49 games with Gwinnett before being DFA'd on Thursday.

Atlanta designated Tellez for assignment Thursday.
Tellez was with the big club for three weeks but received only one start and 11 plate appearances, going 2-for-10 with a home run. He's likely to pass through waivers and would have the ability to elect free agency at that point.

Tellez went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Brewers.
The veteran slugger replaced Matt Olson at first base with the game out of hand late, and Tellez took Chad Patrick deep in the ninth inning in his only plate appearance. It was Tellez's first homer in five games since joining Atlanta's 26-man roster earlier this month, but he has yet to make a start for his new team while stuck behind Olson and Dominic Smith on the depth charts at first base and DH.

Atlanta selected Tellez's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Atlanta placed star outfielder Ronald Acuna (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list, and as a result Tellez, an eight-year big-league veteran, will reach the majors for the first time in 2026. Though the 31-year-old Tellez showed during his time at Gwinnett that he can still hit for power (.483 slugging percentage) and get on base at a steady clip, he likely won't have a path to regular playing time while he's up with Atlanta. Unless Atlanta shows a willingness to use Dominic Smith in the corner outfield while Acuna is on the shelf, Tellez will likely be limited to a pinch-hitting role while Smith and Matt Olson are ahead of him on the depth chart at designated hitter and first base, respectively.
